Asus announced Zenfone 2, a 64-bit smartphone that's bang for the buck

Asus just announced its newest bang for the buck budget smartphone -- the Asus Zenfone 2. What's interesting about this phone is that it has pretty impressive specifications  while it starts under $200. So without further adieu, let's take a look on its full specifications.

Asus Zenfone 2 specifications:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display (1920 x 1080 resolution) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3
  • Having a pixel density of 401ppi
  • Processor:
    • Intel Atom Z3560 64-bit quad core processor clocked at 1.8GHz
    • Intel Atom Z3580 64-bit quad core processor clocked at 2.3GHz
  • RAM:
    • 2GB of RAM
    • 4GB of RAM
  • 16/32/64 GB internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD)
  • 13MP primary (rear) autofocus camera with dual-LED flash
  • 1080p video recording at 30fps
  • 5MP secondary camera (front)
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G, LTE
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC
  • 3000mAh non-removable Li-Polymer battery
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI

At first glance, it's design is like a combination of LG G3 and HTC One M8. The Zenfone 2 still has a brushed aluminum body and now its volume rocker is placed at the back, just below the camera, which kinda reminds me of the LG G3 but without the power button. Overall, you couldn't ask for more on this smartphone. It's a well-balanced smartphone and it's pretty hard to beat considering it only starts at $199 (base model).

The Asus Zenfone 2 will be available this coming March.

So what are your thoughts on the new Asus Zenfone 2? Are you going to get one once it's already available?
