Earlier this year, Acer had launched its budget friendly 8-inch full Windows 8 tablet -- the Iconia 3. Couple of days ago, Acer just launched another Windows 8 tablet but this time it's much faster than its predecessor which is the "Iconia W4".
So what are the specification of the Acer Iconia W4? The Acer Iconia W4 packs Intel Atom Bay Trail SoC, 8-inch WXGA (1280 x 800 resolution) IPS LCD panel with Zero Air gap technology, 32GB / 64GB Internal storage (expandable via microSD), 5MP rear autofocus camera with 1080p video recording @ 30fps, 2MP front-facing camera, micro-USB, micro-HDMI, SIM card slot, pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 and runs on Windows 8.1.
There will be a number of optional accessories for the Acer Iconia W4 such as Acer Crunch Keyboard which is a 5.33mm thin Bluetooth keyboard that can be also acts as a cover, passive stylus, and power bank.
"Hmm... Another crappy Intel Atom processor." That's the first thing that will pops on everyone's head (including myself), but as I research about the Intel Bay Trail, I was shocked about its performance. Take a look on this video.
Though the tablet on the video has better clock speed, I'm just giving you guys an idea on what can be the performance of the Iconia W4.
There are still no update about its release date and its pricing here in the Philippines.
